Since our launch we have been getting feedback as to who is actually loading property information into their MyProp account. As we suspected, and true to our research it seems to be mostly the female partners.
If you run an SME (small medium enterprise) business you’ll probably know what we are on about. If the business is jointly owned between husband and wife or partner it will be generally the male who maybe on the road dealing with clients. Generally his expense dockets will be spread all over his ute as filing is not his thing. Its then left to the female partner to hunt the dockets down to finish the cash accounting and GST.
With property investing, buying - acquisition seems mainly driven by the male partner. Is that the “hunter” instinct showing through. Naturally this is not always the case. There are of course those with just one rental property investment who would like to own more, but can’t seemingly find the right time to go ahead with a further purchase. It may not be their fault as during childhood many of us were conditioned regarding money and wealth. How many of us were told by our parents to “Never talk about money” “Don’t ask how much things cost” “money doesn’t grow on trees” and “wealth is bad.” It maybe that some investment property owners still harbour these thoughts. To become proactive they may have to readjust a little.
Cheers
